S U R P R I S E! On a beautiful and sunny day in Corona del Mar, Jaimie and Ian decided to surprise their engagement party guests with an actual wedding! Jaimie wanted everything simple and thoughtful. We designed slender menus to be used as a seating chart, personalized for each guest.

Lauren and Adam were getting married in July but their save the dates were arriving to guests just before the holidays. With Christmas ornaments in mind, we designed the outer sleeve in dark green with gold foil detailing and a little black loop at the top. This gave guests a fun option to hang on their Christmas trees. Inside, was a watercolor illustration (done by Polly MacRoberts) of the couple in wedding attire adorned with Santa hats.

It can be so confusing and uncomfortable to know how to move forward with your celebration of love at this time. You may not want to wait another year to get married and you may not want to put your loved ones at risk or make them wear masks at your wedding celebration. Depending on who you are, postage is either something you’ve been thinking about since you got engaged (more likely since you started thinking about your invitations) or the day you’re dropping off 100+ suites at the post office to hand cancel! Either way you’re in luck because there are so many great options these days! With a little bit of planning either on your own or with your designated stationer you can find the perfect compliment to your wedding suite.

It all began with some muslin pouches and a little barn in Massachusetts. Back in 2010 I was hired to create my very first wedding suite. I wasn’t really sure what I was getting myself into, I printed, cut and assembled over 1000 paper pieces all by myself. Lots of long nights and several paper cuts but I’ll never forget Danny and Melissa. They were such a sweet couple and I still have the handwritten thank you note from Danny’s mother.

Eryc and Eric met on OKCupid despite only living ten minutes from one another in the same neighborhood in Brooklyn. What sealed the deal on their first date at Milk and Roses was Eryc claiming (after 2 shots of whiskey) if they have children they will have to learn French and, theoretically, he will have to as well. Eryc has yet to learn French, maybe on their Tahitian honeymoon he’ll start, but they’ve been inseparable since!

With my due date looming, (just 9 days away!!) I thought I’d quickly share our little babymoon we took a few months ago. Since we only had 4 days and I didn't want to be stuck on a plane for too long (starting to feel claustrophobic in my own body) Charleston, South Carolina was the perfect choice. It had been on our radar for a while especially after visiting Savannah and you can be there in less than 2 hours from NYC! The food was amazing and there were so many beautiful spots Dom and I got to enjoy, it was the perfect getaway.

On Clare and Johnny’s first date Johnny gave Clare the flu! How's that for a start!. The very next day, in a valiant act of redemption, Johnny drove several miles to pick up her favorite soup and came to her rescue. Needless to say, she was smitten from that moment on.

For their engagement photos these two surprised their photographer with colorful ski suits! They described their wedding as a ski trip where they just happen to get married. Needless to say, I had a blast designing their save the dates. As I have been seeing a rise in incorporating digital pieces and touches into your wedding paper design I thought it would be fun to break down all the options to bring in digital without sacrificing all of the details and tactile nuances that print provides.

Sadly we are unable to get away this winter so I’m left reminiscing about my favorite getaway - Mohonk, NY. It's only a couple of hours outside the city and is the perfect place to relax and recharge. We went twice last year, once in January and once in November. We are always searching for peace and quiet while working and living in the city and Mohonk has always provided us exactly that. 

I've been taking some time, these first few weeks of  January, to reboot and really reflect on what I want this blog to be. In this past year I've been focusing on consistent posting (starting in the middle of the year, don't judge me). This year I want to push myself to not only continue but also create more curated content, a larger expression of what this was intended to be from the start.

I’m so excited to share with you my first baby shower invitations. My sister Jill, of My Heirloom Bridal had a playful and whimsical theme in mind for her shower and wanted to tie in hot air balloons somehow. I immediately thought of creating a pop-up card, they can bring out the kid in all of us and tied into the theme perfectly. 

Every December, more or less, I host a cookie exchange/holiday brunch. We don't really follow the typical rules of a cookie exchange, I let people bring sweet or savory. We prefer to have salad with our desserts. However I do love the idea of sending guests home with something special, something that will last a few more weeks than a tin of cookies, so I made bath salts! I've been obsessed with making my own bath salts with essential oils since we moved into an apartment that had a tub where all my limbs could actually be submerged. I now know what Audrey Hepburn, (Sabrina) meant by this statement. My husband and I went on a belated honeymoon last year to Paris and we’ve been dreaming about it ever since.

A few months ago I threw a little surprise baby shower for my good friend Cassidy (on the left), under the guise of my annual "cookie exchange". She and her husband Drew had decided to leave NYC now that they were expecting a baby girl this summer, so it was a bit of a sad party to throw (Cass and I go all the way back to freshman year of college). I thought one final gathering of the girls would be the perfect congratulations and send off.

I heard about the Cloisters from a wedding client and good friend of mine a few years ago. She and her now husband actually got engaged there. It's such a picturesque spot and absolutely perfect for an engagement.

I'm so excited to finally share with you my latest wedding invitation suite, the Jillian. This was so much fun to work on because it was for my sister, Jill.
